This is a wonderful spot to stay and get a feel for the area. The hosts know the area and the hiking extremely well, and are more than happy to help. The room is rusticly designed, but very comfortable. The shared bathroom is a ahort walk from the cabin, but was clean and had plenty of hot water to shower after a full day of hiking. It was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay as a base for exploring the slot canyons and other beautiful sights around Escalante and Hole in the Rock road. The local restaurants do tend to close fairly early, so be sure to plan for that.

Stayed in the Barn in early May 2021. Nice location in town ~3 blocks from Route 12. Reasonable price considering you get the entire house with full kitchen. Very clean with beautiful Utah decor. Construction and beautiful (WoW!) wood and ironwork finishes and circular staircase throughout the house was done by the owner. Staircase steps to interior loft are 8-inches thick! Outdoor balcony with seating on north end sits over covered parking. South end includes a covered porch with outdoor furniture and bicycles. Plenty of cooking stuff in kitchen. One full bathroom is a little tight, but everything else awesome. Kind owner lent me tools to help me fix my rental car. I would come here again.

Beautiful place very close to the BLM road which acts as the major artery for all the great hikes in that area. We were 3 people and found plenty of space, and clean bedrooms. There's only one bathroom, so beware of that. Easy to find the place. There's even a hammock in the garden, but we weren't able to find time for it. The place felt a bit warmer than what the thermostat indicated.

Adorable and wonderful sleeping experience. The host was very hospitable. We were able to have some of the orchards plums, apples, and apricots. The bed was comfy, the room was delightful. The bathroom was about 50 ft away which was an inconvenience for late-night potty breaks, but overall this was well worth the price.

Absolutely loved staying with the Wild West Retreat, we stayed in the “Barn”. Gorgeous, great location, comfortable, and private. Hot tub was a nice added unexpected touch. Perfect for after those long days of hiking. Enjoyed star gazing while reviving the muscles for the next day. Included a grill and covered seating area out front, as well as a beautiful balcony out back. The trees were bursting with blossoms. Already making plans for our next stay! Wonderful area to explore.

This place was amazing! The barn is one of the coolest most authentic structures I’ve ever stayed in. We were two couples and very comfortable. They also had coffee bread eggs and fresh fruit for breakfast and Jennifer was a great resource about local hikes. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place in escalante

We stayed in the Pioneer house with our family of 6. This place was such a change of pace during our spring break. The house is so charming with it's beautiful grounds and country small town feel. Shannon and Jenifer are great hosts that couldn't be anymore friendly. We are already planning our next trip to the Pioneer house in Escalante!

We rented the entire resort for our Wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. The crew made dinner for us. Is was delicious, they were very attentive and everything was very decent priced. Jennifer went above and beyond to make this a very special day for us. Thank you
